AI Caravan Kicks Off at NAID with Insightful Contributions from Hive’s Dr. Adel Elmaghraby

The IEEE Computer Society Region 8 AI Caravan launched its first workshop with a dynamic and inclusive event held at the National Academy of Information Technology for Persons with Disabilities (NAID). The gathering marked a significant step forward in promoting accessible, transformative AI across borders — and Hive was proud to be represented by Dr. Adel Elmaghraby, Director of the Hive AI Innovation Studio and Professor at the University of Louisville.

The workshop drew professionals, students, and AI enthusiasts from across sectors, setting the stage for a powerful series of events throughout Region 8.

Workshop Highlights

The event opened with a keynote by Prof. AbdEl-Monem El-Sharkawy, Chairman of NAID, emphasizing the vital role of AI in fostering inclusion and accessibility.
Dr. Islam Tharwat Abdel Halim delivered an engaging session titled “The Essence of AI: Concepts, Applications, and Domains”, bridging foundational theory with practical applications.
Representing Hive, Dr. Adel S. Elmaghraby delivered a compelling keynote on AI in Healthcare, highlighting real-world solutions, global trends, and the promise of AI in enhancing patient care and medical systems worldwide.
Dr. Aysha Alsafty followed with a powerful talk on AI in Finance and Banking, revealing the growing impact of intelligent systems in the financial sector.
Attendees were also given a guided tour of NAID, showcasing the academy’s inclusive technology initiatives.
